# DropLink

> Peer-to-peer file transfer app with end-to-end encryption. Works across macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, and any web browser. No cloud uploads, no file size limits, no account required.

## Key facts

- Transport: QUIC with BBR congestion control on LAN. iroh P2P with NAT traversal on the internet. DERP relay fallback when direct P2P fails.
- Security: TLS 1.3 + TOFU fingerprint (LAN), QUIC with TLS 1.3 and ed25519 device identity (remote app-to-app), BLAKE3 verified streaming for file integrity on remote transfers; on LAN integrity comes from TLS 1.3 AEAD.
- Browser receiving over the internet always streams through the DropLink relay: encrypted in transit, never stored. Direct P2P and end-to-end encryption apply app-to-app; on the local network the browser Web UI connects directly to the sender.
- Platforms: macOS (SwiftUI, native), Windows (Tauri + Vue, native), iOS (SwiftUI, native), Android (native, in testing), any modern browser (Web UI embedded).
- Privacy: no telemetry, no accounts, no file content stored on any server, no DNS discovery (device IP never published to third-party servers).
- App size: under 50 MB on all platforms.
- Typical LAN transfer speed: 15–40 MB/s on modern Wi-Fi 5/6; faster on Gigabit Ethernet.
- Open protocols: QUIC (RFC 9000), TLS 1.3, BLAKE3.
- Free, no ads, no data collection.
